Power Up Solar Co., Inc (Power Up) was founded in April 2003 by Jeff Nicely and partner Michelle McMillan when Atlantic Solar Products, Inc ceased operations as the principal Mid-Atlantic solar energy distributor. Based in Chase, MD, Power Up emerged as a model for the industry and rapidly expanded to become a leading alternative energy company   

A national distributor of integrated solar photovoltaic systems, Power Up is a growing company, uniquely prepared to meet the challenges and opportunities that new markets are providing, augmented by their strength in the industrial, commercial and residential sectors. 

Establishing their business on a wide range of energy systems – sustainable technologies including solar and wind – to provide remote, off-grid electricity; reliable back-up power; and alternative energy solutions, Power Up has created a diversified product base that has driven consistent growth for the last four years.   Having grown to $15 million in annual revenue, and from three employees to 30 in four offices, Power Up has captured a significant share of this still nascent industry. 

States continue to create more favorable business climates through the establishment of interconnection regulations, net metering tariffs and financial incentives including Renewable Energy Credits. Power Up has entered into these rapidly expanding markets with offices in California, Texas, Maryland and Georgia, and conditions have continued to improve with the growing interest in sustainable solar energy.  These new offices not only help Power Up to deliver more timely energy solutions, but they also make meeting the increasing demand for solar and alternative energy more affordable for regional clients. 

Their custom systems integration products are providing solutions in reliability for industrial and commercial clients across the country.  Power Up has built a strong business supplying industrial and commercial applications of solar energy to power gas pipelines, remote cameras, radio communication, and remote lighting systems. Solar power operates critical loads in many vital remote applications - from navigation buoys to weather stations.   

Their diverse application and project portfolio provides them with an exceptional foundation upon which to grow their distribution to an expanding national dealer network. Supporting these dealers with excellent customer service, training and marketing materials has further established Power Up among the nation’s leading solar distributors.
